• Banking corporations and other financial institutions that have been around for a while provide good pay and stability
• Generally, the older the company, the more stable your job is going to be
• Corporations like Walmart, Home Depot, General Motors may have a bad rap as not being worker friendly, but they rank as the best places to work for in their home states.

A Note on Methodology

In order to come up with a ranking, we took a series of steps to systematically match what employers provide and what employees seek. The more matches the better the ranking.

We ranked each company on the scores for each of the following major characteristics: Salary/Pay, Company’s financial health, and Diversity. We averaged the three rankings into an overall company score.
We also compared jobs with the same titles across companies to determine how a particular company fared.
