The Business Risk Senior Officer is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
**Key Responsibilities:** + Interpret, implement and oversee key policy and regulatory requirements, working with country business and cross functional teams to ensure consistent implementation. Priorities include: Operational Risk Management, Data Management/EUC, Data Privacy, Records Management, Fraud Risk and Third Part Management. + Manage issue mitigation for significant operational breaks, identification of root cause and make recommendations for future prevention. + Partner with Operational Risk Management to perform lessons learned, identify trends and provide governance to ensure remediation and improvements. + Ensure timely escalation, management and reporting of control issues with transparency. + Create and maintain written business procedures and operational risk mitigating control process documentation. + Support country business management teams for Internal Audit, Compliance Assurance and Regulatory reviews to ensure fair and accurate assessments and consistent outcomes. + Define and manage key control monitoring metrics, identify emerging issues and coordinate/lead corrective action plans. + Additional duties as assigned. **Qualification:** + The successful candidate will have 6-10 years of broad-based experience in global capital markets businesses across all asset classes, ideally in Risk, Audit, or Control functions + Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills + Experience in operational risk management, including identifying and reporting on key risks, controls and metrics + Change management experience, ability to enhance / automate control processes **Education:** + Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree **Skills:** + Proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation activities. + Strong project management and MS Office skills. + A strong risk, controls, audit and compliance skillset. + Knowledge of self - assessment and regulatory compliance programs, processes and best practices. + Ability to support effective management of program risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies across a large complex program. + Focus on execution and getting the job done. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Excellent planning, task management skills and capable of juggling multiple and changing priorities. + Good reporting and analytical skills - ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to senior and project stakeholders. + Ability to support effective management of program risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies across a large complex program. **Competencies:** + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Attention to detail and accuracy. + Highly organized and efficient at prioritizing tasks. + Fast-thinking; able to quickly identify the root of an issue + Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually with minimal supervision. + Excellent Microsoft Office skills and be an advanced user of MS PowerPoint, Excel and Project. + Ability to lead, energize, communicate and work efficiently across a global organization + Demonstrated strong business maturity and leadership ability in past roles + Operate in an environment that is dynamic, fast-paced, requires creative solutions, quick thinking, multi-tasking, high energy and timely turnaround + The ability to bring together people / processes from different businesses, regions and support functions + Global mindset, with regional/product understanding ------------------------------------------------- **Job Family Group:** Risk Management ------------------------------------------------- **Job Family:** Business Risk & Controls ------------------------------------------------------ **Time Type:** Full time ------------------------------------------------------ Citi is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
