Assistant Plant Manager Job in Neodesha, KS
Ensure manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently, assesses project and resource requirements, and supervises the work of direct reports. Include all important aspects for the job whether performed daily weekly, monthly, or annually and any that occur at irregular intervals. · Accountable for production operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures · Maintains standards of health and safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and security in the work environment· Understands hazardous materials and the proper and safe handling of such ensuring all proper policies and procedures are followed · Planning and organizing production schedules · Estimates, negotiates, and agrees to budgets and timescales with vendors and management · Determines quality control standards by collaborating with quality department and other managers · Organizes the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment · Monitors staff performance and progress · Makes sound decisions using facts and data that are in the best interest of Cobalt · Holds all individuals, including him/herself, accountable for delivering results and satisfying internal and external customers · Continuously improves production operations using lean enterprise practices · Explores options for internal and external activities having impacts on the department and/or business · Shows initiative, courage, integrity, and bases decisions on what is best for the company, not the individual · Other duties may be assigned Qualifications: · Supervisory skills and experience · Ability to read and interpret business documents and data · Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications · Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Education and/or Experience: · Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or seven years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience Language Skills: · Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English · Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic mail, procedures, and performance documents, as examples, in English · Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other employees of the organization · Ability to effectively conduct meetings in person and with technology assistance Mathematical Skills: · Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals · Ability to utilize data to make business decisions Reasoning Ability: · Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists · Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
