Dairy Queen/Fazoli's JOB TITLE: Manager ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Manager for Dairy Queen or Fazoli's, you will be a key member of our retail team. Work hours may vary at times due to business necessity. Minimal travel may be required for activities such as but not limited to other stores or training. Other duties may be fairly assigned. May have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the need and requests of guests. The Manager may find the environment to be busy, noisy, distracting, and will need to apply excellent organizational, time management and stress management skills to complete required tasks on a daily basis and follow task and checklists assigned. Must be able to complete and pass any required pre-employment testing or abilities assessments. Must obtain ServSafe Certification and re-certify as required. Use good judgment and sensitivity in all situations. Responsible for the team and all store operations. Enforce all rules, policies, and procedures uniformly, fairly, and in a timely manner; including coaching and disciplinary action as needed and sending appropriate documentation regarding discipline and termination to the payroll department. Responsible for team evaluations. Responsible for weekly manager meetings (minimum) and one store meeting per month required. Inform teammates of information received at retail manager meeting. Open communication with all team and leadership. Managers are required to work minimum 45 hours per week following assigned schedule including every weekend to meet the needs of the guest. Responsible for cleanliness, friendliness, safety, consistency, and speed of service of the store. Ensure entire team is in proper attire. Responsible for store inventory. Responsible for posting all communications pertaining to the store. Comply with expectations of required inventories and full paperwork procedures in a timely manner. The Dairy/Frozen Manager is responsible for the successful operation and profitability of the dairy/frozen department as well as training, directing and monitoring all department staff.

Career position available on a 3,000 cow dairy in West Central New York overseeing all aspects of employee performance, milk production, caring for all cattle and herd management. Responsibilities include scheduling daily work routines, training, evaluating performance, developing and monitoring procedures and protocols, developing agendas and leading staff meetings, and participating in hiring, on-boarding, and termination of employees. Caring for cattle includes vaccinating and dry-off, sorting and moving of cattle, pregnancy checking, synchronization and heat detection, breeding, reading aerobic culture plates and assigning and performing mastitis treatments, hoof trimming and footbath programs, observation of cattle for heats, sickness, lameness, mastitis, or any abnormality and treating according to established protocols, sick and fresh cow programs which includes temperatures, observation, analysis, palpating, and checking for DA's, maintain cow identification tagging, feed, water, and milk down animals and fill-in for herd staff days off/vacation. Herd Management includes monitor and address any deficiencies in the cow environment ventilation and cooling, bedding, feed and water availability, stocking density, manure scraping, and cleanliness, monitor parlor and barns for facilities or equipment needing maintenance and repair and assign and train maintenance staff in repair methods, monitor feed bunk management, commodity shed cleanliness and management, and feed inventories, utilize EZ Feed to enter ration and dry matter changes and to adjust feed amounts for heifers utilize Dairy Comp for herd management and maintain herd production records, recommend culling decisions, work with contract heifer grower on health, growth, reproduction goals, and heifer movements, create and update management spreadsheets, communicate regularly with owners on progress towards goals and areas of opportunity, order supplies and maintain inventories. Qualifications include employee supervision, management, training, and scheduling, understanding of factors that influence cattle health, reproduction, growth, and production, experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Dairy Comp, and feed management software, experience with AI breeding and synchronization programs, cattle observation, physical exam, and diagnostic skills, previous experience working with cows including, heat detection, sickness, lameness, and treatments, and ability to operate farm machinery.
