This English-Spanish bilingual position is responsible for implementing early childhood data collection for research and evaluation studies including surveys, interviews, child, family, and classroom assessments to support learning in the field and for improvement of early childhood programs. The role conducts research and evaluation activities for various grants, contracts, research and policy projects, and other external services work.Key Responsibilities & duties Study Planning and Preparation Supports senior research leadership in elements of study design, such as researching measurement tools, editing, and reviewing procedures, providing input into study protocols Understands and implements informed consent procedures and meticulously adheres to policies to protect the confidentiality of human subjects participating in research studies Communicates study activities effectively with participants and team members Prepares materials, supplies, and file systems for study organization Enters survey items into online survey systems, such as Survey Monkey and QualtricsProvides English-Spanish translation Data collection in both English and SpanishSchedules data collection activities (i.e., study participant recruitment, study consent, child assessments, and classroom observations) with instructional teams and other professionals in early childhood settings Conducts data collection activities, including administering norm-referenced, standardized child assessments and participant interviews (including, but not limited to, face-to-face and virtual, technology-assisted individual and group interviews) Collects parent and staff survey and interview data, which may involve preparing and electronically sending materials, in-person visits to drop off and collect surveys, and telephone follow-up Adheres to and implements procedures for providing and documenting participant study incentives Data entry, verification, and basic analysis Completes all necessary paperwork related to data collection (including scoring of assessments) and perform data entry, as related to, and required by the research Enters data accurately into databases and tracking systems Provides quality verification and checks on data collected Transcribes qualitative interviews and open-ended survey items Provides basic qualitative theme-based analysis Provides descriptive and basic quantitative analysis Data visualization and reporting Produces visually accessible, accurate representation of data through graphs, charts, and diagrams Produces high-quality research reports for all projects, as needed, supplementing with any additional required paperwork or study documentation General Research and Organizational SupportConducts literature reviews and annotated bibliographies Attends and actively participates in regular team meetings Independently plans and organizes workload; reviews calendar, select data collection dates based on program information, and enters all details of each appointment Participates in organizational committees and workgroups aligned with Clayton’s strategic goals Qualifications:Education: Associates degree required, bachelor's degree preferred Area of expertise: Early Childhood Education, Education, curriculum and instruction, or adult learning Certifications or Licenses Valid driver’s license with evidence of vehicle insurance Pediatric first aid, CPR and Universal Precautions Certification Mandatory Reporter Certification Prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Use of Safe Sleep Practices Certificate Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome and Abusive Head Trauma Certificate Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Basic Course on Human ResearchExperience:1 year Area of Relevant Expertise: Early Childhood setting and experience in educational or social science research required. experience as an assessor or interviewer especially with preschool-age children Training Prior training in the administration of the following assessments: 1) Subscales from the Woodcock Johnson Tests of Achievement (e.g. Letter-Word Identification, Applied Problems), 2) the Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test, 3) Preschool Language Scale, 5th Edition, 4) direct assessment of executive functioning in young children (e.g., Pencil Tap, Head-Toes-Knees-Shoulders, and/or Minnesota Executive Functioning Scale) preferred Training, experience, and reliability in one or more of the Environment Rating Scales and the PreK CLASS® tool preferred Other Special Requirements Current PPD-TB and physical examination Successfully pass a background check and any other regulatory screening requirements Bi-lingual in Spanish required Skills and abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent editing skills with the ability to write concisely and accurately Ability to build relationships and strong interpersonal skills;
